No aims
No loves
As the dawn washes the land
Waters carry shining sand
No aims
No loves
Draw them in and embrace to thee
Incise next to tail
Lay them down
Guide them home
Become solitary
A brightened land holds no place for me
Feel the pull of the whole
Fake the grin
Fake the laugh
Mimic empathy
No aims
No loves
I thirst
I thirst
I thirst
Cull
Bleed an ocean
Spill out the scent and let the old rot run free
Flay
Tear it open
Rip off the dressing
Watch it piss out a sea
This one really goes deep. Tremendously heavy and bleak, yet crushingly groovy as well. You can easily see these guys destroying any venue they'd hit live with this. The heavy hitting slow to mid-tempo tunes are sort of tranceinducing. It's very easy to listen to it multiple times in a row or even get lost in it totally. mourner
I didn't think Rhetoric of the Image could be beaten but Torpor have used it as a base to push everything further on Abscission. Stunning mixes of doom, sludge, post-metal and drone combine to make a record that only has one flaw - it finishes.
I fucking love Torpor and this is an incredible achievement.
My review for Echoes and Dust: https://echoesanddust.com/2023/09/torpor-abscission/ Gary Davidson
"I would've loved to hear both bands collaborate to do the heaviest music that they can do, considering how well it would've fit the dark title, but this is what I never knew I wanted to hear."

Boston band featuring members of Have Heart and Basement take their earnest, motivational post-hardcore to thrilling new heights. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 23, 2023
This album oozes with atmosphere and darkness that's great to listen to especially under grey skies! It's full of brilliant riffs and instrumental sections with very fitting and solid vocals that compliment everything I've mentioned
This is a top release and a prime slab of Post-Metal excellence! Venombullet666
